Gluten-Free Dough Recipe

Ingredients

1 bag RORIE’S oat dough mix
1 3/4 cup warm water
¼ cup honey
2 packets yeast* (4.5 tsp)
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs (see below for egg free version**)
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 egg, beaten, for garnish
Poppy or sesame seeds for garnish optional
*for best outcome use Fleishamanns RAPID RISE yeast.
**replace eggs with ⅓ cup golden ground flax meal ⅓ cup warm water, 2 tbsp applesauce

Directions

In the bowl of an electric mixer combine water, honey and yeast and allow to proof for five minutes add eggs, oil and vinegar followed by RORIES oat dough mix. Mix batter on medium speed for 3 to 4 minutes until a smooth dough forms. The dough will be sticky. Do not allow dough to rise before shaping, immediately oil hands and form dough into desired shapes. Allow the dough to rise for 30 minutes AFTER formed. Do not add flour when working with the dough or it will compromise consistency. Braiding into challah or shaping in loaf pans is not recommended.
