Gluten Free (But You’d Never Know) Chulent

Nobody said chulent can’t be good for you.
This Full ‘N Free twist is flavorful, traditional, and lighter than your average meat-and-barley fare.

  • ½ bag chulent bean mix
  • ¾ cup short grain brown rice
  • 6 Yukon gold potatoes
  • 2-3 pieces flanken
  • 1 large onion, sautéed in avocado oil
  • 1 Tbsp. sea salt
  • ½ Tbsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. paprika
  • Optional: whole raw eggs, washed well

Place all ingredients into crockpot and cover with water. Leave on high heat for about 7 hours on Friday (say 9:00 am to 4:00 pm), then add ½ cup water and leave on low until serving on Shabbos.

It’s a recipe for success.
