1 Bowl Ultimate Grain Free Marble Cake

 1 ¾ cups Rories grain free flour
 ¼ cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
 ½ cup honey or replace with 3/4 cup sugar
 ½ cup avocado oil
 3 eggs
 ¾ tsp baking soda
 ½ tsp apple cider vinegar
 ¼ tsp sea salt
 1 tbsp vanilla extract
 Home made chocolate syrup or store bought
Homemade Chocolate Syrup
 ½ cup water
 ¼ cup maple syrup
 ½ cup cocoa
 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
 1 pinch sea salt



Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 inch pan. It is best to make the chocolate sauce before preparing the batter.


Add all ingredients (aside for flour and chocolate syrup in a medium size mixing bowl)


Once everything is combined add flour and mix until flour is combined with wet ingredients.


(DO NOT OVER-MIX) let sit 5 mins ( it’ll thicken slightly)


Pour batter into 9x13 pan
for marble cake drizzle half the chocolate syrup over the top. Using a skewer or a knife swirl to create a marble effect ( make sure you get it into the batter below the surface)
Store remaining chocolate in the fridge.

Bake marble cake for 30 -35 mins or until top is set and edges are golden brown.
If baking the chocolate cake version bake for 40-45 minutes.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup

In a medium saucepan, whisk water and maple syrup.


Bring the water/syrup mixture to a boil.


Once boiling, reduce the heat to low.


Whisk the cocoa powder into the water/syrup mixture until the powder is fully dissolve


Simmer for 2 minutes.


Add vanilla and a pinch of salt.

Vanilla or chocolate cake variations

For a basic white cake omit chocolate syrup. Bake 30-35 minutes
For chocolate cake, add the full chocolate sauce recipe, mix it into the vanilla batter and bake for 45 minutes.
